Empty fruit bunch (EFB) is a kind of biomass formed during the production process of palm oil and palm kernel oil. In recent years, EFB that used to treat as waste had been recently used as fuel as the quantities increase and become the most abundant bioenergy resources in Malaysia and Indonesia. Commonly, EFB has high moisture content, which lowers the combustion temperature and reduces energy efficiency.
Empty Fruit Brunch Press Machine that manufactured by NST comprises of NST25EFB to extract and compress the remaining oil and reduce the moisture of EFB (moisture of over 60% on a wet EFB basis) to moisture content of between 42% to 50%, which is suitable to use as raw materials for biomass fibres or pellets for large biomass power plant and centralized steam boilers. In addition, the extracted remaining oil from the EFB Press Machine is then collected and delivered to Oil Separation System to collect the sludge oil.
